Entering SSD Controller Market, YEESTOR made a great show at 2019 FMS!

From 6th to 8th August, American time, YEESTOR Microelectronics Co., Ltd exhibited its whole-series products and made an attracting presentation on 2019 FMS (Flash Memory Summit). As one of the main domestic flash memory controller manufacturers, YEESTOR has attended this great event several times previously and has been well-received internationally.

 

The Brightest New "Star" Portable SSD Controller Made Center Stage



It is not hard to see this rising "star" among SSD controllers displayed in this exhibition, which is YEESTOR's newest portable SSD controller.


The portable SSD controllers, YS5281 and YS5283 support respectively USB3.2 Gen1 5G and USB3.2 Gen2 10G port, and both controllers support 3D MLC/TLC/QLC NAND Flash. YS5281 's sequential read is 440MB/s, 380MB/s and that of YS5283 is 540MB/s,410MB/s. Both controllers come with 2CH,4CE/CH,LDPC error correction functions.

 

With the launch of this new chip, YEESTOR is setting out to this heated market of portable SSD storage.

 

Today, portable SSD is on the eve of exponential growth, and will gradually take over portable HDD (hard disk drive). With its solid competency in flash memory research and development, YEESTOR is steadily launching new products and stepping into this market. YEESTOR is very optimistic about portable SSD market and foresees a rocketing annual demand of over 10 million from the market.

YEESTOR displayed PCIe SSD controller, SATA SSD controller, UFS controller, eMMC controller, USB controller, SD controller, and Security Storage controller during this exhibition. The products are extensively applied to data centers, servers, PC, smartphones, tablets, smart homes, IoT devices, etc. For example, eMMC products displayed include YS8295/YS8293EN/YS8293 supporting eMMC5.1 protocol, SPI NAND controller YS7281, and security controller YS2295. USB3.2 controller YS7081/YS5081, USB2.0 controller YS1581,SD6.0 controller YS6285/YS6295. Among all the displayed products, YS6295 is the industry's first SD6.0 controller supporting LDPC. The various controller products answer the increasing demand and expectations of the market.



This year YEESTOR is heading towards SSD controller market at full speed, from consumer level to enterprise level, from SATA to PCIe products, including YS9081XT/YS9083XT SATA3.2 SSD controller, YS9201/ YS9203 PCIe SSD controller, etc., opening up a new world to customers using a desktop, laptop, or other embedded applications.

 

Since the launch of SSD controller, YEESTOR has received many business leads and has quickly reached collaborations with Exascend and Teclast. The deal with the latter is the best testimony for YEESTOR SSD controller, proving that it has survived the expectation of an established SSD manufacturer and its demanding expectation for quality and service. In the following months, more mass production deals are reached with other well-known manufacturers.

 

YEESTOR's success is not by accident but based on its solid R&D capability in SSD controller. The design of SSD controller involves complicated chip framework, interface protocol, and flash memory algorithm technology thus requires great technological know-how. Presenting 3D Flash Memory Program Quality Research Outcome in Flash Memory Forum


On the flash memory forum along with this exhibition, YEESTOR's flash memory characterization scientist Vic Ye gave a speech named “Measuring the Difficulty of Programming 3D NAND”, sharing the outcome and learning from YEESTOR's R&D in recent years.



He pointed out that 3D NAND is much more difficult to program consistently than 2D NAND.  The structures are more complex, and chips, blocks, and wordlines (WL) may have subtle differences.  How can we measure whether 3D NAND has been programmed accurately and will retain the correct states?  A new set of metrics can measure  how close 3D NAND programming comes to achieving and holding the desired results.   For example, “Valid Window” provides a measure of the distance to an adjacent state in an XLC structure.  “Central Point Distribution” provides a measure of the stability of the programming and how long it lasts.  Designers and test engineers can use the metrics both to measure the accuracy (or quality) of the programming and to develop read retry tables.

 

The questions and solutions proposed by YEESTOR on the measurement and assessment of 3D flash memory Program quality demonstrated YEESTOR's dedication in flash memory controller R&D, and the determination in constantly improving flash memory controller R&D competency with its close observation and rigorous scientist spirit, as well as the mindset to consider on the position of the clients. It was no wonder that guests and audience warmly applauded this presentation.

 

In recent year, while continuing its expansion in domestic market, YEESTOR has also increased its presence on world stage, making Chinese chip more known to the international market. On this exhibition, YEESTOR harvested not only good reviews and acknowledgment, but also more confidence to continue its international expansion and development in oversea markets.
